These are the leanest, most tender cuts from the turkey breast. They are naturally boneless and skinless, making them very convenient for quick meal preparation. Each tenderloin is a substantial portion, suitable for individual servings or as a primary component in family meals. The meat is pale pink when raw and cooks to a white color.
They absorb marinades well and are suitable for a variety of cooking methods.
Before cooking, you can marinate the tenderloins for added flavor and tenderness. For pan-searing, heat a little oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook for about 5-7 minutes per side, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). When baking, place them in a baking dish, perhaps with some vegetables, and roast at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes. They can also be sliced thinly and added to salads or sandwiches after cooking.
Compared to whole turkey breasts, tenderloins are much smaller and cook faster due to their uniform shape and size. They are also inherently more tender than other parts of the turkey, such as the thigh meat, which has a slightly richer flavor and firmer texture.
Refrigerate any unused portion of the turkey breast tenderloins immediately after purchase or preparation. Store them in their original packaging or in an airtight container. They are best used within 1-2 days of opening the package for optimal freshness and safety.
