Harris Teeter
Harris Teeter Thick Cut Mexican 4 Cheese Blend
What it is
This is a blend of four distinct cheeses, pre-shredded for convenience. The cheeses are chosen to offer a balanced flavor profile suitable for Mexican-inspired dishes. The thicker cut of the shreds allows the cheese to melt more slowly and evenly, providing a richer texture and more pronounced cheese flavor in your cooking. It is designed to bring together the best qualities of different dairy products for a satisfying culinary experience.
How people cook with it
This cheese blend is perfect for adding flavor and meltability to a wide variety of dishes. It is particularly well-suited for recipes that call for a robust cheese component.
- Topping for tacos and burritos
- Melting into quesadillas
- Stirring into enchilada sauce
- Sprinkling over nachos
Simply sprinkle this cheese blend over your favorite dishes during the last few minutes of cooking, or add it just before serving. It melts beautifully when heated, creating a gooey and delicious topping. For dishes like quesadillas or grilled cheese, layer the cheese between ingredients and cook until golden brown and melted. It can also be stirred into hot sauces or dips to enhance their richness and flavor. The thicker shreds ensure a satisfying melt and texture.
How it differs from similar foods
The thicker cut of these cheese shreds distinguishes it from finely shredded varieties. This means it melts more gradually, offering a more luxurious texture and a deeper cheese flavor that holds up well in baked dishes. The blend itself offers a complex taste profile compared to a single cheese.
Who it is for
Home cooks looking for a flavorful and easy-to-use cheese for their everyday meals will appreciate this blend.
How to keep the rest
After opening, reseal the package tightly and store it in the refrigerator. This will help maintain the freshness and prevent the cheese from drying out. It is best to use the remaining cheese within a few days for optimal taste and texture.
