What it is
Tabasco Red Pepper Sauce is a classic hot sauce made from aged red peppers, distilled vinegar, and salt. It is known for its distinctive fiery flavor and bright red color. The peppers are mashed and aged in oak barrels for up to three years before being mixed with vinegar and salt. This aging process contributes to its unique taste profile and smooth texture. It is a staple condiment found in kitchens and restaurants worldwide.

How it differs from similar foods
Compared to other hot sauces, Tabasco Red Pepper Sauce has a more straightforward flavor profile, focusing on the pure heat and tang of red peppers. Its vinegar base provides a sharp acidity that cuts through richness, while the aging process gives it a depth not found in fresher, brighter sauces. It is less complex than some artisanal sauces with added fruits or spices.
