Nasoya
This is a block of organic tofu that has been pressed to remove a significant amount of water. The super firm texture means it holds its shape well during cooking. It has a mild flavor that readily absorbs other tastes. This tofu is suitable for a variety of culinary applications.
People often use this tofu in savory dishes. Its firm texture makes it versatile for many cooking methods.
Before cooking, it is often beneficial to press the tofu further to remove any remaining water, which helps it achieve a crispier texture. You can then cut it into cubes, slices, or triangles. Marinating the tofu for at least 30 minutes will infuse it with flavor. It can be pan-fried until golden brown, baked in the oven, or added directly to stews and curries. The firm texture allows it to withstand higher heat and longer cooking times without falling apart.
Compared to silken or soft tofu, super firm tofu contains much less water. This makes it denser and more suitable for frying or grilling as it browns nicely and maintains its structure. Softer varieties are better suited for blending into sauces or desserts.
Once opened, store any unused portion of the tofu submerged in water in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Change the water daily. It is best to use the remaining tofu within 3 to 5 days.
