Go Nutra Milk Thistle 10:1 Extract Powder
What it is
This is a concentrated powder derived from milk thistle seeds. The 10:1 ratio indicates that ten parts of the original milk thistle seed were used to produce one part of this extract. This process aims to capture the beneficial compounds found in the plant. The powder is typically fine and light in color. It is a processed food product intended for various applications.
How people cook with it
This extract powder can be incorporated into different culinary and wellness preparations. It is a versatile ingredient for those looking to add milk thistle to their routine.

- Used in custom blends
To use this milk thistle extract powder, begin by measuring the desired amount. It is often recommended to start with a small quantity, such as a quarter teaspoon, and adjust as needed. The powder can be easily dissolved in water, juice, or other liquids. For a smoother texture, you can blend it into smoothies or shakes. It can also be stirred into yogurt or oatmeal. When baking, it can be incorporated into dry ingredients before adding wet components to ensure even distribution. Always ensure it is fully mixed for consistent results.
How it differs from similar foods
Compared to whole milk thistle seeds, this extract is much more concentrated. The extraction process removes some of the plant's natural oils and other components, focusing on specific beneficial compounds. This results in a more potent form that requires smaller quantities for similar effects. Whole seeds have a different texture and flavor profile.
