Cella's Milk Chocolate Cherry Squares
What it is
Cella's Milk Chocolate Cherry Squares are a classic confection featuring a whole maraschino cherry enrobed in smooth milk chocolate. Each piece offers a delightful combination of sweet, slightly tart cherry and creamy chocolate. The texture is a key part of their appeal, with the soft cherry contrasting with the firm chocolate shell. They are often enjoyed as a sweet treat or a small indulgence.
How people cook with it
These chocolate-covered cherries are perfect for satisfying a sweet craving or adding a touch of elegance to dessert presentations.
- Enjoyed as a standalone sweet
- Used for dessert garnishes
- Included in candy dishes
- Paired with coffee or tea
Cella's Milk Chocolate Cherry Squares are typically enjoyed straight from the package. They can be served individually as a small dessert after a meal or placed in a decorative candy dish for guests. For a more elaborate presentation, they can be used to adorn cakes, cupcakes, or other baked goods. Their distinct flavor also makes them a nice accompaniment to a warm beverage like coffee or tea, offering a sweet counterpoint to the drink's richness.
How it differs from similar foods
Compared to other chocolate-covered cherries, Cella's are known for their specific milk chocolate blend and the inclusion of a whole, preserved cherry. This offers a distinct flavor profile and a softer, juicier center than some other varieties that might use cherry pieces or a different chocolate type.
Who it is for
People who appreciate traditional confections and enjoy the combination of fruit and chocolate will likely enjoy these squares.
How to keep the rest
To maintain the quality of Cella's Milk Chocolate Cherry Squares, store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. It is best to keep them in their original packaging or an airtight container to prevent the chocolate from drying out or absorbing other odors. Avoid refrigeration, as this can cause the chocolate to bloom.
