Deep
These are pre-seasoned, bite-sized pieces of firm tofu infused with a blend of aromatic Indian spices. The tofu is pressed and cut into uniform shapes, then coated in a flavorful marinade. This preparation makes them ready to cook and serve as a convenient addition to meals. The spices offer a savory and slightly warm profile, typical of many Indian dishes.
They are designed for quick preparation.
To prepare, simply heat a tablespoon of oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the masala tofu bites in a single layer and cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and heated through. You can also bake them on a lined baking sheet at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway. For an air fryer, cook at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket once.
Unlike plain tofu, these bites are already seasoned with a complex masala blend, saving you the step of marinating. The firm texture holds its shape well during cooking, and the pre-applied spices provide a distinct flavor profile that is ready to complement other ingredients.
After opening, refrigerate any unused portion in a sealed container. Consume within 3-5 days to maintain freshness and quality. Ensure the container is airtight to prevent the tofu from drying out or absorbing other odors.
