Madame Gougousse
Madame Gougousse Lemon Concentrate
What it is
This is a concentrated liquid flavoring made from lemons. It captures the bright, zesty essence of fresh lemon juice and peel in a convenient form. The product is designed to offer a strong lemon taste without the tartness or acidity that can sometimes overpower dishes. It is a shelf-stable ingredient that can be used in a wide variety of culinary applications, providing consistent flavor.
How people cook with it
This lemon concentrate is a versatile ingredient for adding a burst of citrus to both sweet and savory creations. It's perfect for when you need a reliable lemon flavor without the fuss of fresh fruit.
- Flavoring baked goods
- Enhancing marinades
- Brightening sauces
- Adding zest to drinks
To use, simply add a small amount to your recipe. The concentration means a little goes a long way. You can incorporate it into cake batters, cookie doughs, or frosting for a distinct lemon note. It works wonderfully in salad dressings, marinades for chicken or fish, and to finish off savory sauces. For beverages, a drop or two can elevate the flavor of water, tea, or cocktails. Adjust the quantity based on your desired intensity of lemon flavor.
How it differs from similar foods
Unlike fresh lemon juice, this concentrate offers a more stable and predictable flavor profile. It avoids the watery consistency of juice and the potential bitterness from lemon pith. The flavor is typically more uniform and less prone to variations found in natural fruit.
Who it is for
Home cooks and professional chefs alike can benefit from having this concentrated lemon flavor on hand for everyday cooking and baking.
How to keep the rest
After opening, it is best to store the lemon concentrate in a cool, dark place, such as a pantry or cupboard. Ensure the cap is tightly sealed to preserve its potency and prevent evaporation. Refrigeration is not typically required, but check the product packaging for specific storage recommendations.
