Hannaford Lemon Iced Tea Mix
What it is
This is a powdered mix designed to create a refreshing lemon-flavored iced tea. It contains sweeteners and flavorings along with dried tea components. The convenience of a mix allows for quick preparation of a large batch of iced tea, perfect for gatherings or personal enjoyment. It is a shelf-stable product that needs to be rehydrated with water to achieve its final beverage form. The lemon aspect provides a bright, zesty counterpoint to the tea's inherent notes.
How people cook with it
This mix is ideal for making a quick and easy cold beverage. It is a popular choice for hot weather refreshment.
- Refreshing summer drink
- Party beverage
- Afternoon pick-me-up
- Simple hydration
To prepare, simply measure the desired amount of the powdered mix into a pitcher. Add cold water according to the package directions, typically a few quarts for the standard container size. Stir thoroughly until all the powder is dissolved. For best results, chill the prepared iced tea in the refrigerator before serving over ice. You can adjust the amount of water to achieve your preferred level of sweetness and tea strength. It can also be used as a base for other creative drinks.
How it differs from similar foods
Compared to brewed iced tea, this mix offers unparalleled speed and simplicity. It eliminates the brewing and steeping time associated with traditional tea bags or loose leaf tea. The flavor profile is often more consistent and intensely sweet due to the added ingredients.
Who it is for
This mix is for anyone who enjoys a sweet and tart lemon-flavored iced tea and values convenience in beverage preparation.
How to keep the rest
After opening, store the remaining powder in its original container or an airtight one in a cool, dry place. Ensure the lid is securely closed to prevent moisture absorption, which can cause clumping. Proper storage will maintain the quality and flavor of the mix for future use.
