Giant Eagle Garden Medley With Garlic Herb Seasoning
What it is
This is a dried vegetable blend designed for convenience. It contains a mix of vegetables that have been dehydrated to preserve them. The accompanying seasoning packet includes garlic and herb flavors, intended to enhance the taste of the vegetables when rehydrated. It is a shelf-stable product that offers a quick way to add vegetables to meals.
How people cook with it
This product is useful for adding flavor and a vegetable component to various dishes quickly. It is a good option when fresh vegetables are not readily available or when time is limited.
- Soup base enhancement
- Quick side dish
- Stir-fry addition
- Casserole filler
To prepare, typically you would add the dried vegetable mix to boiling water or broth. The amount of liquid and cooking time will depend on the specific instructions on the package, but it usually involves simmering until the vegetables are tender. The seasoning packet is generally added towards the end of the cooking process to infuse its flavors. You can adjust the amount of seasoning to your preference. This product is meant to be cooked thoroughly before consumption.
How it differs from similar foods
Unlike fresh vegetables, this medley is dehydrated, which changes its texture and requires rehydration. The pre-mixed seasoning offers a consistent flavor profile, whereas using fresh herbs and garlic allows for more customization and variation in taste.
Who it is for
Home cooks looking for a convenient way to incorporate vegetables and flavor into their meals.
