Goya
Goya Oven Ready Lasagne Pasta Sheets
What it is
These are specially designed pasta sheets for making lasagne without the need for pre-boiling. They are made from durum wheat semolina and are shaped to fit perfectly into a lasagne dish. The texture is firm enough to hold its shape during baking, absorbing the sauce and cheese to create distinct layers. They are a convenient alternative to traditional fresh or dried pasta sheets that require an extra step before assembly.
How people cook with it
These pasta sheets are ideal for creating classic baked lasagne dishes. They simplify the preparation process, making it easier to assemble your favorite lasagne recipes.
- Layering in baked lasagne
- Creating pasta bakes
- Assembling vegetarian lasagne
- Making meat lasagne
To use, simply arrange the dry lasagne sheets directly into your baking dish, alternating layers with your chosen sauce, meat, vegetables, and cheese. Ensure that the pasta is fully covered by liquid ingredients, such as a rich tomato sauce or béchamel, to allow it to cook properly in the oven. The moisture from the sauces will hydrate the pasta as it bakes, resulting in tender, perfectly cooked layers. Bake according to your recipe's instructions until the lasagne is bubbling and golden brown.
How it differs from similar foods
Unlike traditional lasagne sheets that need to be boiled in water before assembly, these oven-ready sheets are designed to cook directly in the sauce. This eliminates the need for a large pot of boiling water and the careful handling of hot, slippery pasta, saving time and effort in the kitchen.
Who it is for
Home cooks looking for a quicker and more convenient way to prepare traditional lasagne dishes.
How to keep the rest
Store any unused pasta sheets in their original packaging in a cool, dry place. Ensure the package is sealed tightly to prevent moisture from entering, which could cause the pasta to soften or clump together. Proper storage will maintain the quality and texture of the pasta for future use.
