These are fully cooked meatballs that have been flame broiled to give them a slightly smoky flavor and a browned exterior. They are made from a blend of beef and pork, seasoned, and formed into uniform spheres. The pre-cooking process means they are ready to heat and serve, saving time in meal preparation.
These versatile meatballs are perfect for quick weeknight meals or as an appetizer. They can be incorporated into a wide range of dishes.
To heat, place the frozen meatballs in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until heated through. Alternatively, they can be heated in a skillet over medium heat with a little oil, stirring occasionally, for about 10-12 minutes. They can also be added directly to simmering sauces or soups during the last 15 minutes of cooking.
Unlike raw meatballs that require full cooking, these are pre-cooked and flame-broiled. This process imparts a distinct char and smoky taste that is difficult to achieve with standard pan-frying or baking. The texture is also slightly firmer due to the initial cooking.
After opening, refrigerate any unused portion in a tightly sealed container. They should be consumed within 3-4 days. For longer storage, they can be frozen again, though texture may change slightly upon thawing.
