Nela Evaporated Filled Milk 30ml
What it is
This is a concentrated dairy product made from milk with some of the water removed. It has a richer, creamier texture than regular milk due to the evaporation process. The term 'filled' indicates that some of the milk fat has been replaced with vegetable oil. This process alters the flavor and texture slightly compared to pure evaporated milk. It comes in a small, convenient 30ml size, suitable for single-use applications or for adding a touch of richness to small portions.
How people cook with it
Evaporated filled milk is a versatile ingredient used in both sweet and savory cooking. It can add body and creaminess to dishes.
- Thickening sauces
- Enriching coffee
- Adding creaminess to desserts
- Balancing flavors in savory dishes
To use, simply open the small container and pour the desired amount into your recipe. It can be added directly to hot or cold preparations. For sauces, it helps to create a smoother, more luxurious consistency. In beverages like coffee or tea, it provides a richer mouthfeel than regular milk. When baking, it can contribute to a tender crumb and a more decadent flavor profile. Its concentrated nature means a little goes a long way in enhancing the overall taste and texture of your culinary creations.
How it differs from similar foods
Unlike regular milk, evaporated filled milk has had water removed, making it more concentrated. The addition of vegetable oil in place of some milk fat gives it a slightly different mouthfeel and flavor profile compared to pure evaporated milk. It is less rich than heavy cream but offers more body than standard milk.
