What it is
Yummy House Dried Sweet Potato Slices are a convenient and shelf-stable way to enjoy the natural sweetness of sweet potatoes. These slices are carefully dried to preserve their flavor and texture, offering a chewy and satisfying snack. How people cook with it
These dried sweet potato slices can be enjoyed as a standalone snack or incorporated into both sweet and savory culinary creations.
- Snack on them directly
- Add to trail mix
- Incorporate into baked goods
- Use in savory stews
As a snack, simply open the package and enjoy the chewy texture and sweet flavor. For baking, they can be rehydrated slightly by soaking in warm water for a few minutes before adding to muffins, breads, or cookies. In savory dishes like stews or curries, they can be added directly to the pot, where they will soften and impart a subtle sweetness to the broth. Their concentrated flavor makes them a good addition to granola or homemade energy bars. They can also be chopped and used as a topping for yogurt or oatmeal.
How it differs from similar foods
Unlike fresh sweet potatoes, these dried slices offer a longer shelf life and a concentrated sweetness. Their chewy texture is also distinct from the softer texture of cooked fresh sweet potatoes, making them suitable for different applications where a firmer bite is desired.
