Aldi Chicken Bouillon Cubes
What it is
These are concentrated cubes of dehydrated chicken broth. They are designed to dissolve easily in hot water, creating a flavorful liquid base for various dishes. Each cube packs a significant amount of chicken flavor into a small, convenient form. They are a staple for many home cooks seeking to enhance the taste of their meals quickly and efficiently. The cubes offer a consistent flavor profile that can be relied upon in the kitchen.
How people cook with it
Chicken bouillon cubes are a versatile ingredient used to add depth and savory notes to a wide range of recipes. They are particularly useful for building foundational flavors in soups, stews, and sauces.
- Flavoring broths and stocks
- Enhancing sauces and gravies
- Seasoning rice and grains
- Adding depth to stir-fries
To use, simply dissolve one or more cubes in boiling water according to your recipe's needs or your desired flavor intensity. The amount of water will determine the strength of the resulting broth. You can also crumble the cubes directly into dishes like rice, stuffing, or casseroles before cooking to infuse them with chicken flavor. For a richer sauce or gravy, add a dissolved cube to the liquid base. Adjust the quantity based on personal preference and the saltiness of other ingredients.
How it differs from similar foods
Compared to liquid chicken broth, bouillon cubes are more shelf-stable and take up less storage space. They offer a more concentrated flavor that can be easily adjusted by varying the amount of water used. Powdered bouillon is similar but cubes are often perceived as having a more intense, pure chicken taste.

How to keep the rest
Store unused bouillon cubes in their original packaging in a cool, dry place. Ensure the container is tightly sealed to prevent moisture absorption, which can cause the cubes to crumble or lose flavor. Proper storage will maintain their quality and potency for an extended period.
