Kroger Buffalo Jack Slices
What it is
These are pre-sliced pieces of Monterey Jack cheese infused with a spicy buffalo flavor. The cheese offers a creamy texture characteristic of Monterey Jack, combined with the zesty and slightly vinegary notes of buffalo sauce. Each slice is designed for convenient use in various dishes, providing a balanced blend of dairy richness and bold seasoning. The slices are typically uniform in thickness, making them easy to layer and melt.
How people cook with it
Buffalo Jack slices are a versatile ingredient for adding a kick to everyday meals. They melt beautifully, making them ideal for hot dishes.
- Sandwich topping
- Burger enhancer
- Quesadilla filling
- Nachos component
To enjoy these slices, simply unwrap them and place them directly onto your food. They are excellent for melting over hot items like burgers or grilled chicken sandwiches. For quesadillas, layer them between tortillas and cook until the cheese is gooey and the tortilla is golden. They can also be broken up and scattered over nachos before baking. The pre-sliced format eliminates the need for cutting, saving time in the kitchen. Their distinct flavor profile means they can stand alone or complement other ingredients.
How it differs from similar foods
Unlike plain Monterey Jack, these slices incorporate a spicy buffalo seasoning directly into the cheese. This eliminates the need to add separate buffalo sauce, streamlining preparation. The spice level is generally moderate, offering a noticeable heat without being overpowering for most palates.
Who it is for
Home cooks looking for a quick way to add spicy, cheesy flavor to their meals will find these slices convenient.
How to keep the rest
