Sweet Cherry and Mixed Fruit in 100% Fruit Juice
What it is
This product contains a blend of sweet cherries and other fruits, all packed in their own natural fruit juice. The juice is derived solely from the fruits themselves, offering a pure and sweet liquid base. It provides a convenient way to enjoy a variety of fruits, ready to be consumed or incorporated into various dishes. The fruits are typically preserved through canning, ensuring a long shelf life.
How people cook with it
This fruit blend is versatile, suitable for both sweet and savory applications. It can be enjoyed straight from the can or used as a flavorful component in cooking and baking.
- Topping for yogurt
- Ingredient in fruit salads
- Filling for pastries
- Flavoring for sauces
Open the can and drain the fruit and juice, or use both together depending on your recipe. The fruits can be added directly to baked goods like pies or tarts, or gently simmered to create a compote. They are also excellent when folded into pancake or waffle batter for a burst of fruitiness. For a quick dessert, serve the drained fruit over ice cream or alongside a dollop of whipped cream. The juice can be reserved and used as a natural sweetener or liquid base in smoothies.
How it differs from similar foods
Unlike fruits packed in syrup, this variety uses 100% fruit juice, meaning no added sugars or artificial sweeteners are present. This results in a less intensely sweet flavor profile and a more natural fruit taste. The blend of fruits also offers a broader spectrum of flavors and textures compared to single-fruit options.
Who it is for
Home cooks looking for convenient fruit options for everyday meals and special occasions.
How to keep the rest
After opening, transfer any unused fruit and juice to a separate, airtight container. Refrigerate this container promptly. It is best to consume the remaining product within a few days to maintain its freshness and quality. Avoid storing the opened product in the original can.
