Thiamine (Vitamin B1)

Slide2Thiamine is one of the coenzymes which play a vital role in the energy-production process.  Its major function is the carbohydrate metabolism.

When you don’t have enough quantities of Thiamine in your body, acids accumulate in the blood, muscles and brain with damaging effects. The cardiovascular, nervous and gastrointestinal systems are also impaired.

The classic syndrome of thiamine deficiency is beriberi (muscular atrophy and inflammation of the nerve endings)
